The HSD “Last Ditcher” is a simple and easy to build push-pull crystal controlled thermatron 40M QRP CW transmitter capable of 4 Watts output. The kit is my version of the original “Last Ditcher” transmitter published in the August 1947 issue of QST by John Paddon (VE3BLZ).  That transmitter design was based on the the original 1930’s 'Jones Push-Pull Oscillator” named after Frank Jones (W6AJF), The circuits low-parts count, along with its pleasing symmetry, gives the circuit a unique and simple elegance as well as a clean CW “note”.
